Discover the Art of Fused Glass…

Colourful abstract fused glass artwork depicting a seahorse in a vibrant underwater scene with algae and bubbles.

Based in Southern Spain, ValerieAnn creates beautiful bespoke fused glass art for you to enjoy and offers Experience Days for you to participate in its creation.

Each piece is handcrafted using a variety of special glass elements that, once arranged, are melted together at a high temperature and then gradually cooled to produce a unique design and shape.

Glass is a strikingly beautiful medium to work with. The subtle effects light can have on the resulting art piece are both endless and timeless. The many colours available play beautifully in the light, leading to countless creative possibilities. In other words, fused glass has it all.

If you have a special need for your own home or require a perfect one-off gift, ValerieAnn can work with you and your budget to turn your ideas into reality.

And to help others discover the art of fused glass, then ValerieAnn’s range of gift vouchers are the ideal answer.

About the Artist

Originally from Buckinghamshire, England and having spent my entire career in specialist retail fashion, my retirement gave me the opportunity to pursue the equally colourful world of ART.

I first started painting, using watercolour and acrylic inks on canvas, which I enjoyed. I then tried my hand at mosaic and found that I loved experimenting with my own ideas & producing my own designs. Then… I discovered GLASS and so began my journey to becoming a fused glass artist.

As an impulsive and slightly impatient person, glass allows me to work quickly & intuitively without excessive planning & measuring. Transforming sharp colourful glass into smooth and interesting pieces & pictures borders on “magical” with a touch of the “unknown”.

Although the extreme heat of the kiln is meticulously controlled, the eventual outcome and look of a piece is never 100% guaranteed. I always get excited (and, very occasionally, disappointed!) when I lift the kiln lid at the end of the process.

I learnt the skills needed by attending classes from a highly experienced glass artist in the UK. When I retired to Spain, I purchased my own kiln and have subsequently used my imagination to produce the range of glass art shown in My Gallery. Every fused glass piece is handcrafted in my Andalusian studio, which is located in Casares Costa in the province of Málaga.

Today, I spend my time between crafting pieces in imaginative & interesting styles for myself & others. Through my Experience Days, which I host at my home, I encourage & help those who attend to make their own beautiful, unique, glass art pieces and to discover the “magic” of fused glass. I also love to create bespoke pieces and enjoy working with individuals to bring their ideas to life.

With fused glass, let's make our world a little brighter… together!
